At Ethical Home Buyers, we often encounter homeowners who often ask “How can I sell my house for cash in Tampa, FL?” Although we know that we can easily solve their home selling woes, we also believe in providing them with helpful tips that will help them better position themselves for a successful home sale. This three-part article will tell you which tasks to tackle to get your home ready for sale. If you haven’t already, read part one of our article or skip ahead to part three.
Repair the Minor Stuff
Some homes only need minor repairs, and it’s quite possible to do these yourself. If you aren’t the handiest, hire a reasonably priced handyman. Some minor repairs include:
- Installing light fixtures
- Unclogging a toilet
- Fixing a leaky pipe
- Fixing a broken toilet lever
- Clearing a jammed garbage disposal
- Tightening loose handles/door knobs
- Get rid of mold and mildew
- Removing old caulking and recaulk
On the other hand, some homes need major repairs completed which will require a professional’s help. For those asking “Can I sell my house fast in Tampa, FL if it needs extensive repairs?” Anything is possible, but if you don’t have the funds to do this quickly, it can easily delay the selling process.
Update the Outdated
Just because a home was built in the 1950s doesn’t mean it has to look like it. A home built long ago is likely missing some of the more modern elements and amenities of today. If the home is drafty, for example, address insulation and air sealing. Replace old white or beige appliances with stainless steel appliances. Wallpaper is making a comeback—and not the old-fashioned kind. If you fancy wallpaper, replace it with wallpaper containing modern patterns and colors or paint the walls. If your home has glass blocks update them as soon as possible with creative glasses or skylights. Also, remove popcorn ceilings and vertical blinds.
